HOW IT’S MADE

Crafted in clay pots using firewood, just like our grandmothers did.

Hand-Milked at Dawn

Before the village fully wakes, the women are already at work. Each Kankrej cow is lovingly hand-milked.

Hand-Milked at Dawn

Made From Curd, Not Cream

We follow the old-school path where the milk is turned into curd, just the way grandmothers did it. Fermented overnight, it thickens naturally, setting the stage for a deeper flavour.

Made From Curd, Not Cream

Churned with Wood, by Hand

Come morning, the curd is churned in wooden pots using a traditional bilona (wooden churner).

Slow-Cooked on Cow Dung Cakes

The butter is then simmered slowly over a fire of dried cow dung cakes. This earthy flame gives the ghee its nutty aroma, golden hue, and soul-soothing depth.

Bottled in Glass, With Love

Once cooled, the ghee is poured into clean glass jars. Every jar is sealed with care, carrying with it the hands, hearts, and heritage of Sherpura.

FAQS

What makes Gwalika Ghee different from regular ghee?

Gwalika Ghee is made the traditional way, from curd, not cream, using A2 milk from indigenous Kankrej cows. It’s hand-churned in wooden pots and slow-cooked over cow dung cakes, just as our grandmothers did. No shortcuts, no machines, no dilution. Just the real thing.

What is A2 milk, and why is it important?

A2 milk comes from native Indian cow breeds like the Kankrej. It contains only the A2 beta-casein protein, which is known to be easier to digest and gentler on the gut compared to the A1 protein found in hybrid cows. It's milk the way nature intended, and your body prefers.

Is your ghee organic?

While we don’t currently hold a certified organic label, everything we do is rooted in natural, chemical-free practices. Our cows graze freely, their fodder is local and seasonal, and our process involves no preservatives or additives. It’s purity, not paperwork, that drives us.

Can I use Gwalika Ghee for cooking?

Absolutely. Our ghee has a high smoke point, making it perfect for Indian cooking, from tadkas to frying, or even baking. It also adds depth and richness to rice, rotis, and even your morning coffee or warm milk.

Can I eat it raw, like a spoonful every morning?

Yes, and many of our customers do. A teaspoon of ghee first thing in the morning is a traditional wellness practice that supports digestion, gut health, and energy levels.

Is your ghee safe for children and elderly?

It’s made for every generation. Because it’s made from A2 milk and follows a gentle, traditional process, it’s suitable for kids, elders, and anyone looking for clean, nourishing fat in their diet.

Does Gwalika Ghee need to be refrigerated?

Nope. Our ghee is shelf-stable. Just store it in a cool, dry place with the lid closed tightly. It keeps beautifully for months.

Do you deliver across India?

Yes, we do! Gwalika ships across India. We pack each jar carefully in eco-friendly, break-resistant packaging so it reaches you safe, fresh, and intact.

Can I return or exchange my product?

We put a lot of heart into every jar, but if something’s gone wrong, we’re here to fix it. Drop us a message and we’ll make it right.

How can I trace where my jar came from?

Every jar of Gwalika Ghee can be traced back to Shevpura village, to the very cows and women who helped make it. We're working on adding batch-wise traceability very soon.
